05.06.13 At the 2013 SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival, the Film Jury Award for Best LGBT Film went to The Commitment, in which Alecia plays a social worker. The indie biopic Children of the Asylum, starring Alecia as Joyce Marcettie, received the Audience Award for Best Regional Short Film. Both are poignant tales about the challenges and joys of adoption.
