Print Prompt

Last week I was called in for a print audition for the first time in a while. The casting director was kind to think of me in and it was nice to become reacquainted. Even more pleasing, the CD welcomed me by name while I signed in! I had forgotten how long the wait can be for these castings, though, relative to commercial castings. While I waited I found myself making comparisons. Was I too tall? Definitely not. Too short? Possibly. Everyone else, excepting the toddler I saw, was at least five inches taller than me. Too conservative looking? Though I know they were casting for “real people“, given the descriptions provided in advanced, I made some strong choices that would help to age me “up”.  They, perhaps, make me look quite conservative, too. Happenstance Perusal

From time to time I get to do print work.  The last opportunity was with the Massachusetts Lottery’s Billion Dollar Bonanza campaign.  Yesterday, though, I came across myself unexpectedly.  A few years ago I was hired to do some stock photography for Hewlett-Packard but never saw the final results.  Have you found me in this image?  I’m the happy technician pictured–wearing next to no make-up.  To achieve a “natural” appearance for us “technicians” (which is how technicians appear, I guess), we all received a dusting of powder and that was it.  Oh, and they made my hair stick-straight with a round brush and a hairdryer.  Don’t you want to upgrade to touch-technology, now?  Who knows!  I may be somewhere else on the site, too.

Lottery Likeness

I’ve just gotten a high-quality image of the print ad for the Massachusetts State Lottery campaign.  Here it is!  Can you see me beneath the lottery ticket?  (It’s big.)

I had been told there could be a print campaign as part of the Massachusetts Lottery commercial series, but I didn’t know if it would actually happen.  Now I know it’s official.  Yesterday morning someone gave me page A6 of the Boston Globe and who was on the bottom half of the page?  Me!  Oh, and the little white convertible and the massive Billion Dollar Bonanza ticket, as well as Anthony in the attendant’s booth.  I was quite surprised.  Here’s a photo of the ad:
