04.26.10 Short film Fate Scores has been accepted to the 6th Annual Connecticut Film Festival, May 4-9, 2010. It screens in a program of shorts entitled “Music and Film” on Tuesday, 4 May 2010, at 11:30 AM at the Danbury Music Center and again on Saturday, 8 May 2010, at Noon at the Common Council Chambers at Danbury City Hall.

04.25.10 Fate Scores has been picked up for distribution by Moving Images Distribution (formerly known as Canadian Filmmakers Distribution West), the largest distributor of Canadian independent film and video in western Canada. Alecia served as Assistant Director on this project and sang in the premiere recording of the original score, fALATIMI, by composer Christian Coleman.

04.20.10 Alecia performed the National Anthem at Fenway Park on Patriots Day, which included historically-accurate regimental colors and Paul Revere.

03.30.10 A commercial for a Maine ballot initiative in which Alecia stars is the recipient of a 2010 Pollie Award for Best Use of Humor in a Ballot or Initiative Campaign.  The Pollie Award is the most prestigious award granted in the political campaign and public affairs industries, often referred to as the “Oscar” of these fields.  Alecia has blogged about this unexpected outcome in A Pollie Prize!.

12.01.09 Indie feature film Circuit (Andrew Landauro and Central Productions) has won Best Picture at the 2009 Rhode Island International Horror Film Festival, part of the Rhode Island International Film Festival. In it, Alecia plays the on-scene news reporter.

11.12.09 Short film Fate Scores screened successfully at the Vancouver Asian Film Festival in Vancouver, BC Canada, 5-8 November 2009. The National Film Board of Canada awarded Fate Scores 3rd place in the Best Canadian Short Film competition.

06.24.09 Short film Fate Scores will screen at the Asian American International Film Festival in New York City on 26 July 2009 at 2:15 PM at the Museum of Chinese in America, 215 Centre Street, as part of the shorts program Fun and Fantasy. Now in its 32nd year, the Asian American International Film Festival is the country’s longest-running festival for filmmakers of Asian descent.
